Speedy house sale for second steppers

Kym Jones and her husband Chris purchased a Redrow home in Fulwood, near Preston, using the housebuilder’s Help to Sell agency assist scheme

They had already been saving for two years to move from their first home together into a larger family home when Kym found out she was expecting their second child, which meant the need for more room was even greater.

After Kym and Chris found their dream home, we were instructed by Redrow’s Lancashire division to sell the couple’s previous home, a three-bedroom semi-detached home in Fulwood on their behalf.

After completing the valuation and taking photos and measurements for marketing material, our in-house North West valuer Mark Keenan handed over to Property Perspective account manager Lee Revill, who guided them through the process from that point on. 

Lee explains: “Kym and Chris’ previous home was advertised on Rightmove and Zoopla and alerts were sent to all prospective buyers whose saved criteria matched with the home. 

“From our experience, we know that newly listed properties receive six times more enquiries during the first two weeks of advertising than in subsequent weeks. And we’re delighted to say that within less than a week of their home being on the market, Kym and Chris had an offer for the full asking price.”

Kym takes up the story: “Using Redrow’s Help to Sell saved us trawling the high street and wondering which estate agents to use, it really did take the stress of selling our old home away so we could focus on our new one.

“We were very impressed with the speed. Property Perspective valued the property quickly and it was on the market within a week. 

“Property Perspective gave us weekly, sometimes daily, updates on the status of the chain and what we needed to do to make sure it all ran smoothly. Our account manager Lee was great at chasing people lower down the chain and was always lovely to us despite us sometimes phoning him several times a day! 

“When we heard the house had sold, we were totally over the moon, we had prepared ourselves for it to take months so it was a complete shock that it all happened so fast.”

Moving can be stressful at the best of times, let alone when you have two young children in tow. I knew it was important for me to keep communication with the couple open so they could stay as calm as possible throughout.” Lee adds.
